Term 2: Close Study of Shakespeare's  The Tempest

This module will prepare students for the Critical Study of Literature module which they must study in both the Year 11 and Year 12 HSC Advanced English Courses. Students will undertake a close study of Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Students will explore, analyse and evaluate the quality of the text. In doing so, students will develop their personal perspective of the text. Particular attention will be paid to how the text is shaped by its context, how the text is constructed, and the ideas and values that are represented in and through the text. Students will develop their persuasive writing and analytical essay writing skills by composing a range of responses to the text.
